Seven Generations Energy Ltd. Announces Two New Board Appointments
CALGARY, Aug. 15, 2014 /CNW/ - On behalf of the management team and Board of Directors of Seven Generations Energy Ltd. (the "Company" or "7G"), Mr. Pat Carlson, Chief Executive Officer, is pleased to announce that Mr. W.J. (Bill) McAdam and Mr. Dale Hohm have agreed to join its Board of Directors.
Prior to his retirement in 2013, Bill was President and CEO of Aux Sable Canada LP and Aux Sable Liquid Products LP ("Aux Sable") in Canada and the USA. Aux Sable is a midstream gas processing company formed to extract natural gas liquids from gas transported to Chicago by the Alliance Pipeline. From 1974 to 1994, Bill held progressively more responsible positions with Imperial Oil and Exxon Chemical in the engineering, refining, fertilizer, petrochemicals, planning and natural gas liquids businesses in Sarnia, Toronto, New York, Edmonton and Calgary. He began working with Aux Sable in 1995 during its development phase until 1996 and was subsequently President of Mapco Canada Energy Inc., a crude, gas and NGL trading and facility development company, from 1996 until 1998. Bill rejoined Aux Sable in late 1999 and moved to Chicago in 2000 to lead the start-up and development of the Aux Sable business including the construction and commissioning of the $3.5 billion Alliance Pipeline/Aux Sable rich gas system in December, 2000. Bill graduated from Queens University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and earned his Masters of Business Administration degree from McMaster University in 1980. Bill is a US citizen. He and his wife, Stephanie, live near Chicago.
CEO, Pat Carlson, said, "7G's friendship with Bill started when we negotiated our first rich gas marketing arrangement with Aux Sable. It became clear to us that Bill shares our business style and values and possesses industry-leading skills in the gas processing and marketing areas where our business interfaces with its customers, including Aux Sable." With his midstream and downstream experience, Bill will add new perspectives to 7G's Board. Bill's experience plus his passion for health, safety and the environment will make our Board even stronger." Bill has agreed to Chair the Health, Safety, Environment and Community Engagement Committee of 7G's Board of Directors.
Dale served as Chief Financial Officer of MEG Energy commencing in 2004 until his retirement in July 2013. He was a key part of the MEG team that built the company from a private start-up to a public in-situ oil sands producer with a production capacity of 80,000 barrels per day. From 1990 to 2004 Dale held senior financial positions in TSX listed energy services and upstream oil and gas companies. Before entering the energy sector, he worked in the audit and assurance practice of Deloitte & Touche in Edmonton, where he earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 1983. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1980 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Dale is fully qualified and has agreed to serve 7G's Board as a financial expert and as Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board.
Vice President of Corporate Planning, Christopher Law, indicated: "Dale has extensive financial experience and connections and will serve as a valuable mentor to 7G's finance team."
