Shame on Carleton University and its discrimination Policy
TORONTO, Nov. 17 /CNW/ - Carleton University, that bastion of free-thought, has ordered some of its students to accept its pro-abortion policy or leave the University. The Carleton University Students Association (CUSA) are much like those who call themselves "pro-choice" when in reality the only choice that they accept is their choice.
"Are we still in Canada?" asked Jim Hughes. "The pro-life students have followed all the criteria for a university club on campus and have been certified since 2007 but on November 14, 2010 the CUSA decertified Carleton Lifeline for its anti-abortion views." "All freedom-loving Canadians should be appalled," Mr. Hughes said.
"This is an abuse of power and an act of oppression," said Alissa Golob of Campaign Life Coalition Youth. "Once again freedom of speech has been violated at yet another Canadian University. The university is a place that should be open to higher learning, intellectual dialogue and freedom of expression. By discriminating against this group purely because of their pro-life views blatantly contradicts the very things a university should stand for. I guess pro-abortionists feels so threatened these days that they have now resorted to attacking young students for their pro-life stance.,"
Campaign Life Coalition and Campaign Life Coalition Youth urge everyone and particularly all Carleton Alumni to withhold their financial support until freedom of speech is protected and to contact Carleton University and decry this hypocritical policy.
