Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver receives prestigious CAA/AAA Five Diamond Award

BURNABY, BC, Sept. 5, 2012 /CNW/ - The British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA) congratulates the Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver for achieving the distinguished CAA/AAA Five Diamond Rating. The Five Diamond Rating for accommodations is awarded to properties that provide extraordinary physical attributes and individualized experiences that are of the highest quality. Currently, Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver is the only hotel in Vancouver to achieve the Five Diamond Rating.

Recipients of Five Diamond Ratings must undergo a rigorous evaluation process during an unannounced, on-site inspection conducted by professionally trained CAA/AAA inspectors. According to BCAA, out of the nearly 31,000 properties approved by CAA/AAA, fewer than one-half percent achieve a Five Diamond Rating. This is Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver's first Five Diamond Award. The hotel has received a CAA/AAA Four Diamond Award every year since opening its doors in 2009.

The CAA/AAA Diamond Rating system is the only evaluation program that covers Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.
