Shape WLB, a BDC client company, wins "VoirGRAND.tv" competition
MONTREAL, QC, June 10 /CNW Telbec/ - The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is pleased to announce that one of its clients, Shape WLB, is the winner of "VoirGRAND.tv", the first program dedicated to young entrepreneurs in Québec. "VoirGRAND.tv" airs on Canal VOX.
Mylène Girard, CEO of the Saint-Hubert-based cinematic equipment manufacturer, stood out among the seven finalists. Ms. Girard proved to the seasoned entrepreneurs on the show's board of directors that her business had the greatest potential for growth.
"Over the past year we improved the design of our products, expanded our distribution network and penetrated the market in the United States and Europe," explained Ms Girard. "I believe this is what gave Shape WLB the edge over the other competitors on the show."
Isabelle Leduc, Senior Manager of the BDC Entrepreneurship Centre in Montreal, is impressed with the passion and energy shown by Mylène Girard and her spouse, Charles Vallières, the power couple behind the company. "Mylène and Charles worked relentlessly to carry out their project," she declared. "It's always gratifying to see that our advice and financial support had an impact on the success of our clients."
"BDC's financial support was a seal of confidence, which allowed us to reassure and attract other sources of financing," Ms Girard pointed out. "This helped us to substantially increase our sales and to create new jobs."
