PORT CREDIT, ON, Nov. 14, 2014 /CNW/ - The Salvation Army Thrift Store will be celebrating the grand opening of a new location on Friday November 14th, 2014, with celebrations to continue on Saturday November 15th.
"We appreciate the opportunity and privilege we have in serving this very diverse community and sharing our approach to retail and recycling", says David Court, National Director of Operations.
Visual arts students of the Cawthra Secondary School are sharing their interpretation of community giving through a store-front mural, being painted this week. "We are very proud of our school-wide commitment to social responsibility. Our visual arts students are excited to blend together community, entertainment, and culture in this mural within a district that represents all three very well," says Wendy Lautamus, Principal of the Cawthra Secondary School.
The community is encouraged to stop in to enjoy an abundance of items under $1 plus door crasher giveaways. With 8,000 square feet of retail space the new location, at 187-189 Lakeshore Blvd East in Port Credit, offers a range of products including: clothing, furniture, new mattresses, books, toys, electronics and housewares. Store hours run Monday to Friday 9am – 9pm and Saturdays 9am – 8pm.
The Salvation Army Thrift Store is accepting donations in food, clothing and monetary giving through its GoodWorks@Work TM programs available in store. Clothing donations receive an additional $10 savings coupon.
