TORONTO, Oct. 23, 2018 /CNW/ - The Canadian Franchise Association's Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Sherry McNeil to President & Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA), effective November 26, 2018.
A long-standing member of the CFA Board of Directors, McNeil has more than 20 years of franchise experience working with franchisors and franchisees. A veteran of the industry, she has helped a wide range of systems in a variety of categories, from new and emerging franchise concepts to iconic Canadian franchise brands such as Little Caesars, Boston Pizza, Dairy Queen, and YUM Brands, to grow and thrive in franchise development, sales, real estate, project management, concept evolution, and rebranding as both a consultant and in leadership positions.
"Sherry brings to the CFA a unique understanding of a franchise system's inner workings to recharge an organization and forge a new path towards success," says John DeHart, Chair of the CFA Board of Directors and Co-Founder, Nurse Next Door Healthcare Services & LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic. "We believe that the CFA is at a confluence of change and having someone at the helm who can both navigate and initiate change, while combining the best of the past with the opportunity of the future, was the right choice in selecting our new leader.
"The opportunity that lies ahead for the Canadian Franchise Association is enormous and I'm excited to lead the staff team through the next phase of the Association's development," says Ms. McNeil. "Having worked with new, emerging, and mature franchise systems, I have a clear understanding of the opportunities and stresses that are faced by franchisors, and how the CFA can be of assistance to our members. I look forward to working with, and serving the CFA membership."
Franchising is ultimately about people. It's about everyday Canadians working together, sharing success, and Growing Together™. Under McNeil's leadership, the CFA will ramp up its strategic transformation to serve those in the Canadian franchise community by advocating for franchising, offering the best learning resources, and providing support and growth opportunities.
McNeil joins the CFA at an exciting time for the association and for the franchise landscape. Canadian franchises contribute over $99 billion per year to the Canadian economy and create jobs for over 1.8 million Canadians. Canadian franchises enable 78,000 hardworking Canadians to be their own boss as the owner of their own small business franchise location.
