SHOPS AT DON MILLS WELCOMES MARK McEWAN'S NEWEST GASTRONOMIC DESTINATION
TORONTO, Sept. 30 /CNW/ - Shops at Don Mills is thrilled to announce the opening of the Centre's newest tenant Fabbrica. The fourth restaurant in the Mark McEwan family, Fabbrica will officially open its doors on October 1 and be located directly across the street from the highly popular McEwan Fine Foods. A casual and highly-authentic Italian restaurant, Fabbrica with offer guests a contemporary atmosphere and attitude, coupled by a kitchen steeped in centuries-old tradition—from its Italian-sourced ingredients, to its old-style wood-burning oven.

The 6,000 square foot restaurant will feature approximately 150 seats, plus an additional 25 during patio season and Rob LeClair will serve as Executive Chef. "This new venture is a terrific addition for us and is based on the tried-and-true concept that everyone loves simple Italian fare when it's done right and made with great ingredients," shares Mark McEwan. "I'm excited about the restaurant's location at Shops at Don Mills and the great synergy Fabbrica will have with McEwan Fine Foods."

About Mark McEwan
Mark McEwan began his culinary career in the late 70's in the kitchen of Toronto's Constellation Hotel. From there, Mark moved on to the Sutton Place Hotel, where he quickly became executive chef. In 1985 Mark purchased Pronto Ristorante with two partners. Then in 1990 he launched North 44, his first solo venture, and the pillar on which he would build the empire that now includes North 44 Caters, Bymark, ONE Restaurant at The Hazelton Hotel, Fabbrica at Shops at Don Mills and a twenty-three-thousand-square-foot fine food emporium named McEwan.
