Shops at West in Olympic Village, Vancouver Announce New Retail Tenants Including Locally Operated WildTale Seafood, PappaRoti and Nook Italian Ristorante
VANCOUVER, May 24, 2018 /CNW/ -- WildTale, PappaRoti and Nook are the latest restaurant additions to Olympic Village's trendy urban scene and speak to Executive Group Development's promise to provide unique, experiential and service-related retail offerings at the Shops at West to meet the needs of the local community.
Located within Tower Green and Epic at West, Phase 2 & 3 respectively of the highly anticipated mixed-use development completed in April 2018, Executive also announced the exciting recent opening of Tandem Health Medical Center, and future opening of Silver 4 Hair Salon and Oakwyn Realty, which have also signed leases within the new premier retail center of Olympic Village.
The established brands were carefully selected to align with the boutique-style experience planned for the development. Executive's vision for the project is to contribute to the surrounding neighborhood by offering an elevated experience to the community. Executive worked extensively with the neighborhood to understand the specific types of retail tenants the community desired to see. The valuable information collected led to the selection of the exciting retailers, restaurants, shops and service providers that will welcome the community back to the historic shipbuilding neighborhood's waterfront.
Known as Vancouver's favorite locally operated Italian neighborhood restaurants, Nook opened its original location in the Robson shopping district almost a decade ago, and a second location at Kitsilano Beach a few years later. The iconic Italian restaurant's third location at Shops at West will provide the community with a new and exciting way to dine by offering fine imported products, homemade gourmet offerings and other specialty Italian foods. The new location will also serve the surrounding area with a robust take-out service that will allow freshly prepared Nook favorites to be taken home to the front doors of the three towers at the Residences at West and the surrounding neighborhood.
"We are excited to offer something unique and complementary to the Olympic Village neighborhood," says President of the Executive Group, Salim Sayani. "We have carefully designed the retail offering to reflect the people and places that make up this exciting new waterfront community. We are pleased that Nook will be opening, alongside our recently opened and thriving WildTale, the Flying Pig, Bao Down and all our other unique restaurants which provide quality, convenient and healthy fare."
WildTale Restaurant, the well-known local establishment that has helped redefined the fresh seafood and chophouse dining experience, will be a welcome addition to the offering at Shops at West. The restaurant will lend a contemporary experience consisting of thoughtfully selected and fairly traded ingredients. The established brand, which opened the doors of its first location in Yaletown in 2012, offers a menu that provides an exceptional selection of enticing and healthy west coast inspired dishes, with meats and seafoods locally sourced whenever possible.
"While looking to expand and evolve the WildTale brand, we fell in love with the Shops at West project. When this space and opportunity came to us, we saw the potential right away," says Brian Isherwood, Partner at WildTale Restaurants. "We're tailoring the restaurant to the neighborhood and making it more accessible with a street front patio, happy hour feature specials as well as traditional dining. Our new location will also be the first to offer up the local community in Olympic Village with a fresh shucked oyster bar. We love the Olympic Village community and feel extremely excited and lucky to bring our WildTale healthy fresh seafood to Olympic Village and the West Side of Vancouver."
"The careful selection of tenants is at the essence of our vision for Executive's Shops at West," comments Asif Kara, Vice President of Real Estate for Executive Group Development's Vancouver office. "Both Nook and WildTale alongside Bao Down, Flying Pig and PappaRoti, will act as a natural extension of the elevated vibrancy and sophistication of Olympic Village. Most importantly, the inclusion of brands such as these align with Executive's commitment to delivering vibrant and unique retailers to the existing Olympic Village."
The three retailers join the previously announced Flying Pig and Bao Down new restaurant concepts among the retail offerings, which includes a variety of boutique shops such as the popular Kiss and Make Up lifestyle and fashion store, and services such as Tandem Health Medical Centre along with many more. The development, embracing the highest standard of contemporary West Coast architecture, art, and culture, consists of 488 individually designed waterfront homes along the full city block of West 2nd Avenue. Three architecturally distinguished concrete and glass buildings will be joined by pedestrian-oriented public mews, creating a new pedestrian path from West 2nd Avenue to the waterfront which will provide a view corridor and access to the beach and seawall. The public mews will also host the Executive commissioned 35-foot Nautica sculpture by renowned artist, Marie Khouri, which pays homage to the neighborhood's historic ship-building industry. The mews will host musical performances programmed by the community event organizers for Performing Arts, reflecting Olympic Village's unique sense of community.
