Shylo Craig of CTV Northern Ontario to receive Fire Safety Award
TORONTO, June 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Shylo Craig of CTV Northern Ontario will receive a Fire Safety Award from the Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council at a ceremony on June 12, 2013 in Toronto. The annual Fire Safety Awards recognize outstanding contributions to fire protection and prevention in Ontario.
CTV Northern Ontario has proved to be a tremendous supporter of the Greater Sudbury Fire Services through its six-year partnership to acquire, develop and broadcast public service announcements (PSAs).
On behalf of CTV Northern Ontario, Account Executive Shylo Craig acquires corporate sponsors to pay for the fire safety PSAs, at no cost to the fire department. In supporting these fire safety messages, sponsors are provided with exceptional advertising rates. This year, it is expected that CTV Northern Ontario will air the PSAs more than 1,000 times with a value of more than $200,000. In addition to Sudbury, many of the PSAs will air across northern Ontario in communities such as Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie and North Bay.
"Greater Sudbury Fire Services worked with CTV to develop the concepts and the scripts for the PSAs," said Ted Wieclawek, Ontario Fire Marshal and Chair, Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council. "This partnership has been invaluable in helping to educate communities about fire safety in a visually impactful and interesting way."
The Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council gratefully acknowledges the support of its sponsors in this event: Technical Standards and Safety Authority, The Co-operators Group, Kidde Canada Inc., Home Depot of Canada Inc., Proctor & Gamble Inc., Electrical Safety Authority, CSA Group, Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc., Roxul Inc. and Underwriters' Laboratories of Canada.
