Global technology company to provide medical imaging equipment
TORONTO, Aug. 21, 2014 /CNW/ - Siemens Canada is bringing its state-of-the-art medical imaging equipment to the TORONTO 2015 Games, ensuring the region's top athletes will have access to vital information needed for rapid diagnosis and therapy.
As the Official Supplier of Medical Imaging Equipment for the Games, Siemens will help outfit the Polyclinic at the CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Athletes' Village, which will provide high-quality imaging to the health-care team looking after more than 10,000 athletes and officials in the summer of 2015.
The equipment will include both portable and fixed digital X-ray equipment and ultrasound machines. Every year, imaging systems from Siemens are used in almost a billion examinations around the world.
Joining the Games as a sponsor is a first for the global technology company, which has operated in Canada for more than a century.
