Signature Vacations protects customers affected by Skyservice closure
TORONTO, April 1 /CNW/ - Signature Vacations reacted to news on Wednesday March 31st that Skyservice Airlines, one of its flying partners, has terminated operations as a result of a court injunction issued at the request of Thomas Cook Canada. "We would certainly have appreciated having had the ability to plan for this as Sunquest has," said Stephen Hunter, President & CEO of Sunwing Travel Group, "but despite this fact, I am pleased with our quick response and relieved to advise that all of our customers are being accommodated on their original travel dates." Hunter continued to add that the impact on the overall Sunwing Travel Group business has been minimal, with 12% of April departures and only two of thirty possible gateways affected (Toronto and Winnipeg).
Travel retailers and customers are being contacted with updated flying schedules in order of departure date and the Tour Operator's team is working through the night and holiday weekend to ensure that everyone is notified in a timely manner. Affected customers and retail partners are asked to check www.signaturevacations.com, which will be kept up to date with the most current schedule information.
Toronto customers now travelling with Sunwing Airlines are reminded that their flights depart out of Terminal 1. Sunwing staff will be on hand in Terminal 3 to re-direct passengers as required.
All Signature Vacations flights for Summer 2010 will continue to operate on Sunwing Airlines.
