Anne McGrath, former Chief of Staff to NDP leaders Thomas Mulcair and Jack Layton to join Ensight Canada; Jacquie LaRocque becomes Principal of leading Ottawa firm
OTTAWA, July 4, 2012 /CNW/ - As the parliamentary session comes to a close, so does a year of unprecedented growth for the Ottawa-based consulting firm Ensight Canada. With this comes two significant announcements:
- Jacquie LaRocque becomes a Principal of the firm. In addition to Jacquie's ongoing commitment to government relations and communications work with clients, she will assume expanded responsibilities for the overall growth of the firm.
- Anne McGrath becomes Managing Director of the firm and will focus on strategic communications and public affairs.
"I am looking forward to taking on this new role and responsibilities while continuing to work closely with all of our clients. We have had tremendous success in growing our firm and I am very excited about our team and our future," LaRocque said.
LaRocque, a highly effective communicator and government relations professional, came to Ensight Canada in 2010. In her role as Managing Director, Jacquie has helped build Ensight Canada into one of Ottawa's leading firms, working with clients in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Jacquie has also been actively involved as a founding member of Women For Mental Health, a philanthropic program at The Royal, as well as sponsorship chair of the hugely successful Hope Live gala in support of Fertile Future.
A frequent commentator on national media broadcasts, McGrath has consistently been identified as one of the 100 most influential people in government and politics in Ottawa. She brings extensive experience and knowledge of federal politics, the trade union movement, the NGO sector, social justice organizations, and the NDP at every level. She served as Chief of Staff to NDP leaders Jack Layton from 2008 to 2011 and Thomas Mulcair since he was elected leader last March, as well as NDP president from 2006 to 2009. She was a member of the core team that led the NDP to its historic breakthrough to official opposition status in 2011.
"Ensight Canada has made a real and positive difference in the public policy arena and ultimately, in the day-to-day lives of all Canadians. I am proud to be associated with this firm and look forward to working with such a principled and experienced team," McGrath said.
Ensight Canada is a strategic partnership between Enterprise Canada and Navigator, two prominent strategic communications, public affairs and research firms. Since it was established in 2006, Ensight Canada has worked successfully with dozens of clients in a variety of sectors.
