Government of Canada supports Basses-Laurentides community project
ROSEMÈRE, QC, April 27, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, Linda Lapointe, Member of Parliament for Rivière-des-Mille-Îles, announced that $83,642 in financial assistance, in the form of a non-repayable contribution, has been granted for the renovation of the Rosèmere Curling Club.
The significant funding from the Government of Canada, awarded through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150), will support 40% of the project, which consists in changing the dehumidification system and the refrigeration system associated with the curling infrastructure. The total value of the renovation project is estimated at $209,106.
As part of Canada's 150th anniversary celebrations, under the theme of "a clean growth economy," a large number of renovation projects, such as the one by the Rosemère Curling Club, have been approved from coast to coast.
In line with the goal of the CIP150, the Rosemère Curling Club renovation project will help stimulate the economy in the short term through spin-offs generated by the project activities and will contribute to long-term growth by increasing the community's strength and vitality.
CED is one of the six regional development agencies under the responsibility of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.
