EKO / TSX
MONTREAL, Dec. 3 /CNW Telbec/ - Noveko International Inc. ("the Company") is pleased to announce that Distinction Group Inc., through its subsidiary Montcalm Technical Services Inc. (collectively referred to as "GDI"), the Canadian leader in integrated facility services, has opted to equip the buildings it manages with Noveko™ filtration solutions. Pursuant to the three-year agreement just entered into between GDI and Noveko International Inc. ("Noveko"), GDI will purchase or lease Noveko™ filtration solutions to equip the buildings for which it ensures the ventilation-related services. In this regard, GDI has already undertaken to equip a first office building it manages in downtown Montreal with Noveko™ filters.
"We are proud to team up with GDI, the No. 1 in the industry with its portfolio of more than 2,000 clients across Canada. Along with the scale of its business operations, its know-how in technical services, high-technology solutions and building management, as well as its notoriety, make it an ideal partner for the success of our business plan in filtration solutions for buildings. This agreement is therefore strategically important since it paves the way for our entry into a vast market and will leverage the further commercialization of our filtration solutions in the real estate segment," indicated Mr. Alain Bolduc, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company.
"We opted for Noveko™ filters because they fit into our strategy of expanding and enhancing our line of value-added services targeted to our client base. We thereby offer our clients a distinctive solution: the best possible combination of performance, energy savings and durability. Noveko's innovative filtration technologies will become a must for any building owner or manager seeking to reduce its ecological footprint and to implement a sustainable development strategy. We are confident that this is the start of a high-potential long-term partnership between our two groups," said Mr. Claude Bigras, President and Chief Executive Officer of GDI.
"This partnership joins the advances achieved in our various air filtration related segments. Under recently concluded agreements, our filters are now being used to equip other office buildings in the Greater Montreal Area, as well as new hog farms in Quebec and Ontario. Furthermore, several tests are progressing well in the transportation industry," added Mr. Bolduc.
GDI is Canada's leader in integrated facility services. Through its subsidiaries, GDI provides a range of industrial janitorial, mechanical maintenance, energy management and other related services to various segments of the real estate industry. A public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, it has 17 offices and more than 9,500 employees who oversee the service and day-to-day maintenance of more than 250 million square feet of physical space in most major Canadian cities. Its portfolio of more than 2,000 clients consists of the largest office towers, commercial buildings, manufacturing facilities and institutional and tourist establishments in Canada. GDI recorded revenues of more than $250 million in 2009.
Features of the Noveko™ Filters
The filters incorporating Noveko's patented technologies consist of four layers of synthetic fibre built into a rigid aluminum framework, making them perfectly leak-proof and resistant to variations in temperature and humidity. Their superior filtration effectiveness also enables users to achieve energy savings related to their ventilation systems. Their increased durability, combined with the fact that they are cleanable and recyclable, significantly reduces the number of filters used and the costs associated with their replacement and the elimination of waste, thereby making them an ideal eco-friendly solution. It is notably the incorporation of antimicrobial agents into the filter fibres, thanks to Noveko's patented antimicrobial filtration technology, that protects the filters against deterioration due to the action of microorganisms and accounts for their cleanability and durability.
