Simon & Schuster Canada announces The Art of Diplomacy, a memoir by Bruce Heyman, the former U.S. ambassador to Canada, and his partner Vicki Heyman
TORONTO, Jan. 10, 2019 /CNW/ - Simon & Schuster Canada is proud to announce The Art of Diplomacy: Strengthening the Canada-U.S. Relationship in Times of Uncertainty, a memoir by Bruce Heyman, the former U.S. ambassador to Canada, and his partner Vicki Heyman, to be published on April 30, 2019.
A call to action and a much-needed book about the relationship between Canada and the U.S., The Art of Diplomacy explains why diplomacy matters now more than ever.
Bruce and Vicki narrate their three years in Canada spent journeying across the country and meeting Canadians from all walks of life—including Supreme Court justices, prime ministers, fishermen, farmers, artists, and entrepreneurs. They tell the behind-the-scenes stories of how their team helped bring Obama to Canada and Trudeau to the U.S. They also reveal the importance of creating cultural and artistic exchange between Canada and the U.S., and the importance of protecting one of the most important relationships in the free world today. As the Heymans' friend President Obama once said, "The world needs more Canada."
"In the current political climate, we need diplomacy more than ever," say Bruce and Vicki Heyman. "This book is our tribute to the special friendship shared between Canada and the United States. Diplomacy is about building relationships both personal and political, and about the human connection that transcends the politics of the day."
"This book reminds us that only by working together to protect our shared values—the environment, social justice and human rights—can nations build a better world for all. We couldn't be more proud to publish this memoir," says Kevin Hanson, President and Publisher of Simon & Schuster Canada.
