Sino-Forest Amends Plan of Compromise and Reorganization - Meeting of Creditors to Proceed on December 3, 2012
TORONTO, Dec. 3, 2012 /CNW/ - Sino-Forest Corporation ("Sino-Forest" or the "Company") today announced that it has made certain additional amendments to the Plan of Compromise and Reorganization dated November 28, 2012 (the "Plan") as a result of further discussions among the Company, the ad hoc committee of the Company's noteholders and other participants in the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (Canada) (the "CCAA") proceedings involving the Company. The amendments were made in accordance with the terms of the Plan and the Plan Filing and Meeting Order of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (the "Court") dated August 31, 2012 and with the consent of the ad hoc committee of the Company's noteholders. A copy of the Plan will be available on the Monitor's website at http://cfcanada.fticonsulting.com/sfc. In the interim, a copy of the Plan may be obtained by sending an email request to the Monitor at [email protected].
As previously announced, the meeting of creditors to consider the Plan will be held at 10:00 a.m. on December 3, 2012, at the offices of Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, counsel to the Court-appointed Monitor, at 1 First Canadian Place, 100 King Street West, 16th Floor, Toronto, Ontario.
Noteholders representing an aggregate of over 72% of the outstanding principal amount of Sino-Forest's notes have agreed to vote in favour of and to support the Plan.
