TORONTO, March 3 /CNW/ - SIRIUS Canada, the country's leading audio entertainment company and Best Buy Canada today announced the launch of a special JUNO Awards version of SIRIUS' popular Face the Music Challenge game. The national name-that-tune style contest will award one lucky Canadian music fan a trip to St. John's, Newfoundland for the 2010 JUNO Awards on April 18th.
SIRIUS and Best Buy Canada's Face the Music Challenge will test Canadians' music mettle both in-store and online by asking participants to select the correct artist or song title based on a 30-second song clip. The Face the Music Challenge song choices mirror SIRIUS Canada's wide array of commercial-free music from channels featuring 60s pop hits and 80s hair bands to Canadian indie, opera, hip-hop, and country. To celebrate the 2010 JUNO nominees announced today, the Face the Music Challenge game awards bonus points for all Canadian songs that are answered correctly.
"We're excited to team up with Best Buy Canada and reward the ultimate Canadian music buff with a trip to the Junos," said Janet Langille, Vice President, Marketing, SIRIUS Canada Inc. "Showcasing Canadian artists and helping listeners discover new music in unique ways is something that has always been a priority for SIRIUS Canada."
The grand prize consists of round trip travel and accommodation for two to St. John's, VIP access to Juno FanFare, tickets to the live JUNO Awards, special dress rehearsal experience and $500 spending money.
Canadians can enter SIRIUS' Face the Music Challenge contest online at www.sirius.ca and beginning March 5 at www.bestbuy.ca/siriusjunos in addition to Best Buy Canada locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Halifax.
The contest will be promoted extensively online and in-store with touch screen game kiosks, retail displays and Best Buy flyer advertising.
