SiriusXM Canada to broadcast Independent Music Awards live
Performances by Billy Talent, Alvvays, The Glorious Sons, Broncho, and more
TORONTO, May 7, 2015 /CNW/ - SiriusXM Canada, the country's leading audio entertainment company, today announced a North American-wide broadcast of the 15th annual SiriusXM Indies, as part of Canadian Music Week in Toronto. SiriusXM subscribers can tune in to Iceberg (Sirius channel 161) and The Verge (XM channel 173) on Saturday, May 9 at 7 pm EST for full coverage of the awards, including exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews with performers and winners.
The SiriusXM Indies award the best in Canadian and international independent music, as voted by the music industry and fans, and will be hosted by SiriusXM's Jeff Leake. Iconic rockers Billy Talent will headline the show with special guests Alvvays, The Glorious Sons, Broncho and Miracles. Awards given throughout the evening include Album of the Year, Single of the Year, Artist of the Year, the SiriusXM Emerging Artist of the Year - English and French (both to receive a $5,000 bursary) and more.
Those satellite radio subscribers who add SiriusXM Internet Radio access to their subscription can also listen to the Indies on the SiriusXM Internet Radio App and online.
