Site preparation set to begin for Tsawwassen First Nation retail developments
TSAWWASSEN, BC, Oct. 29, 2012 /CNW/ - Site preparation for Tsawwassen First Nation's (TFN's) future retail developments will begin the week of October 29, 2012.
These activities will focus on ground preparation and the construction of a temporary road access off of Highway 17, and will include:
- Cutting and raking of the grass
- Installation of erosion control measures
- Construction of a temporary road access, including a temporary traffic light, on Highway 17
- Relocation of drainage channels
- Construction of the vehicle staging area.
The site preparation work will be undertaken by TFN-Matcon JV, which is 51% owned by the TFN Economic Development Corporation.
The majority of the work will take place at night during off-peak hour to minimize traffic disruptions. TFN does not anticipate significant noise and light concerns during this project phase. It is anticipated that this work will conclude at the end of December 2012.
The site preparation is being undertaken for TFN's two retail developments partners, Ivanhoé Cambridge and Property Development Group.
