TORONTO, Feb. 29, 2012 /CNW/ - Have an eye for design? Prove it! Canadian retailer Urban Barn is excited to kick-off the Custom Chairity Competition running today through March 11, 2012. The retailer has challenged five Interior Designers to create their own custom chair. Canadians are invited to vote on their favourite design for a chance to win their own custom Urban Barn chair (valued at approximately $1,200) or one of five $100 Urban Barn gift cards. Participating designers are: Kim Johnson (desiretoinspire.net) from Ottawa, ON, Christine Da Costa (decorbychristine.com) from Oakville, ON, Meredith Heron (meredithheron.com) from Toronto, ON, Nyla Free (nylafreedesigns.com) from Calgary, AB, Maria Killam (mariakillam.com) from Vancouver, BC.
Following the Custom Chairity Competition, the public will have the chance to bid on their favourite chair (chairity.urbanbarn.com) as each is auctioned off with full proceeds going to the charity of each designer's choice (World Vision, Country Cat Rescue, The Arthritis Society, the Neonatal ICU at Rockyview General Hospital, Jays Care Foundation).
