Six Months After Launch, Couponing Site SmartSource.ca has Revolutionized Online Couponing for Canadians
Successful Site Has Offered Canadian Consumers over $3 Million in Savings
TORONTO, April 4, 2012 /CNW/ - Six months after launching, Canada's premier site for printable coupons, SmartSource.ca, has re-shaped the Canadian online couponing environment. In only half a year, the site has offered consumers more than $3 million in savings on everyday items from trusted brands. The website offers a wide range of savings opportunities on brands including Advil, Cheerios, Huggies, Irish Spring, Splenda and Twinings. The coupons, which are updated weekly, have ranged from $.50 off a box of Kleenex Cool Touch Tissue to $5.00 off Airwick products.
"You just have to look at the savings and coupon redemption numbers since the launch of SmartSource.ca to see that the site has filled a void for Canadians when it comes to online savings," said Adam North, Sr. Vice President, News Marketing Canada. "I believe the initial success of SmartSource.ca can be attributed to a successful combination of coupons that are immediately accessible to consumers as well as technology that provides industry-leading security to manufacturers."
To help drive the successful momentum of SmartSource.ca, News Marketing Canada, the company that operates SmartSource.ca, has re-branded their longstanding coupon insert SmartSource Magazine as 'SmartSource.ca.' The first rebranded issue was published on March 24th. 'SmartSource.ca' is distributed to 10 million households throughout Canada 16 times per year.
"Our goal is to add value to consumers in the way that makes the greatest impact across several types of media," says Henri Lellouche, Sr. Vice President, Digital, News Marketing Canada. "The majority of coupons that are distributed in Canada are still through newspaper inserts; however the online sphere is growing and attracts consumers who may never have used coupons before. Integrating our print and online capabilities allows us to reach as many Canadians as possible. We are looking forward to watching the numbers grow over the next six months and for years to come."
SmartSource.ca printable coupons are accepted at most retailers, including Loblaw, Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart.
