WINNIPEG, Nov. 9, 2017 /CNW/ - Today, Deloitte announced its Technology Fast 50™ winners, ranking SkipTheDishes in 5th place and reporting 10,969.6% revenue growth from 2013 through 2016. The award celebrates Canada's fastest-growing technology, media, and telecommunications companies.
"It's great to prove that Skip could be built in the prairies, and, even at Skip's large size, it continues to grow fast enough to top Deloitte's list," said Skip co-founder Joshua Simair.
In the five years since launching, SkipTheDishes has grown to become a robust team of almost 800 employees in Winnipeg and Saskatoon, up from 270 employees last year. Roles include data scientists, software developers, designers, live operations managers, marketing and growth professionals, and more. Tens of thousands of independently-contracted food couriers are delivering to customers for Skip's 10,000+ restaurant partners.
In January of this year, Simair was also recognized as one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40 by MNP LLP.
"The award is terrific, and the incredible story for our community is that several hundred people in Winnipeg and Saskatoon have gained fast-growth startup experience that will be invaluable for our futures in the prairies and Canada," Simair said.
SkipTheDishes now partners with more than 10,000 restaurants in more than 40 North American cities, including Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, and almost every city in between. This year alone, more than 4,000 restaurants joined the network, providing customers with an incomparable array of dining options conveniently available for delivery.
