Skytrax Ranks Billy Bishop Airport One of North America's Best for the Fourth Time

TORONTO, March 15, 2017 /CNW/ - Bishop Toronto City Airport was named one of North America's best airports by Skytrax World Airport Awards, the premier international airport awards voted on by 13.8 million passengers worldwide. Billy Bishop Airport was ranked the ninth best regional airport in North America, making it one of only two regional airports in Canada to be recognized in the category. Billy Bishop Airport was also ranked ninth best airport globally in the under 5 million passenger category. The awards were presented in Amsterdam, Netherlands last night.
The 2017 Awards are based on 13.8 million customer nominations across 105 nationalities of air travellers, and included 550 airports worldwide. Passengers continue to choose Billy Bishop Airport as a top airport with high marks across 39 key performance indicators, including fast check-in times, ease of access to the terminal, and the courtesy and efficiency of airport staff. This is the fourth time that Billy Bishop Airport has won a prestigious Skytrax award, having also won in 2013, 2015, 2016.

The Skytrax awards mark the fifth international passenger-driven award received by Billy Bishop Airport this month. On March 6, the airport was named Best Airport in North America in two categories and tied for second globally in the Airports Council International's (ACI) 2016 Airport Service Quality Awards. In 2016, the airport was also named as having one of the Top Ten Most Beautiful Airport Approaches in the world by Private Fly and was ranked fourth Best International Airport by Condé Nast Traveler in October 2016.
