Slate Retail REIT Announces Appointment of Thomas Farley as Chairman of Board of Trustees

TORONTO, June 2, 2014 /CNW/ - The Board of Trustees of Slate Retail REIT (TSX:SRT.UN/SRT.U) ("Slate Retail" or the "REIT") today announces the appointment of Thomas F. Farley as Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Farley is Chairman of the Board of Brookfield Canada Office Properties and has over 30 years of real estate industry experience. Most recently, Mr. Farley held the position of President and Global Chief Operating Officer of Brookfield Office Properties, overseeing asset management, leasing, and property operating initiatives. Further, he served as Chairman of the Board of Brookfield Johnson Controls Canada and Brookfield Johnson Controls Australia. Previously at Brookfield he was CEO of Canadian Commercial Operations, CEO of Australian Commercial Operations and Senior Vice President, Western Canada.
