Slate Retail REIT Completes Acquisition of Smithfield Shopping Plaza

TORONTO, Oct. 22, 2014 /CNW/ - Slate Retail REIT (the "REIT") (TSX: SRT.U/SRT.UN) today announced that it has successfully completed the previously announced acquisition of a grocery-anchored shopping centre located in Smithfield, Virginia.

Smithfield Shopping Plaza was acquired for U.S.$13.95 million (U.S.$103 per square foot). The 134,644 square foot property is anchored by Farm Fresh, a subsidiary of SuperValu, Inc.
