Calgary event will have shorter wait times and smoother slides
CALGARY, Alberta, July 22, 2015 /CNW/ -- This summer has been a scorcher, but Slide the City promises a break from the heat with its massive waterslide coming to Calgary this August. Event organizers have recently instituted wave times so that families and friends alike can slide more and wait less.
"Wave times limit participant wait times," said Slide the City representative Amy Gessel. "They ensure that everyone gets down the slide safely while getting the number of slides the registered for."
Slide the City is working closely with the City of Calgary to make sure each participant has a great experience during the event. They extended their operating time by six hours to accommodate participants. Even after this change, it was necessary to implement wave times to alleviate lines during peak hours of the day. Some participants are disappointed about the change.
"We understand that some unlimited/VIP sliders are upset that they are not given the use of the slide for the entire time the slide is operational," said John Malfatto Co-owner of Slide the City. "The extended hours will make certain that each unlimited slider will speed down the slide more than any other participants at the event."
Despite the implementation of wave times, Slide the City remains excited about the event. With local vendors, food, music and of course plenty of time to slide, this water lover's paradise promises to be a highlight of the summer. Event organizers are confident that by increasing the number of sliding hours with the separation into wave times, the much-anticipated event will exceed all expectations.
Any sliders unhappy with the changes may contact [email protected] prior to the event for a full refund. All refunds will be processed within seven business days.
