THORNHILL, ON, Feb. 22 /CNW/ - Get the ice scrapers, snow brushes and shovels out. You'll need them. A snow storm is tracking our way and could make for a sloppy, slushy drive home.
Normally, at this time of the year, the city sees well over 80 cm of snow. This winter, there has only been about 35 cm.
"Remember to clear off all the snow from your car before heading out, so you can see and be seen," said Silvana Aceto, spokesperson for CAA SCO. "When driving in snow, slow down and put more distance between you and the car in front of you."
CAA SCO recommends the following winter driving tips:
- Remove all snow from your vehicle's hood, roof, windows and lights - Slow down and wear your seatbelt - Be prepared, carry a fully charged cell phone with you - Wear warm clothes - Install four matching winter tires - Pack a winter survival kit
Keep the following in your trunk: shovel, windshield washer fluid, booster cables, kitty litter (for traction if you get stuck) and extra clothing and footwear.
Keep the following inside your vehicle: ice scraper, snow brush, blanket, flashlight and first aid kit.
