MoneyShow Toronto Experts analyze the market for opportunity vs over-valuation
TORONTO, June 28, 2018 /CNW/ -- Becoming only the second nation, behind Uruguay, to have full legalization, Canada will legalize the use of recreational marijuana on October 17, 2018. The brief delay in implementation gives provinces and businesses time to adjust and prepare for the country's new normal. While the cannabis sector has been booming for Canada for some time now, the legalization will change the landscape of profitable opportunities for existing and potential investors.
Jay Rosenthal, co-founder & president of Business of Cannabis (BofC), and MoneyShow Toronto speaker says, "While October 17, 2018 will be Day 1 for legal cannabis sales in Canada, for investors it will also be Day 1 to see how companies perform in a national, fully-legal live market."
With more IPOs set to hit the sector, many investors are anxious to break into the green rush, but it is unlikely that the legalization process will be seamless. Provinces will decide legalization specifics within their territories, and as a result, sales regulations and age restrictions will vary across Canada.
In addition to the complicated legalization logistics, it is also important for investors to gauge valuation.
