MONTREAL, Aug. 8, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - SNC-Lavalin (TSX: SNC) announces today that Chantal Sorel has been appointed Executive Vice-President, Capital, in addition to her current role as Managing Director, effective immediately. Based in Montreal, she will report to Neil Bruce, President and Chief Executive Officer, and serve as a member of our Executive Committee.
As Executive Vice-President and Managing Director, Capital, Ms. Sorel will continue to oversee all aspects of Capital, SNC-Lavalin's investment, project financing and asset management arm. She is responsible for the company's investment and asset management business capabilities, investing capital in projects and managing its multi-billion dollar portfolio of infrastructure investments. Among her achievements was the creation of the company's new infrastructure investment vehicle, which enables SNC-Lavalin to combine long-term asset ownership and management with the redeployment of capital back into high-priority initiatives.

Ms. Sorel joined SNC-Lavalin in 2007 and has held positions of increasing responsibility over the years. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice-President, Business Development, Infrastructure, and Vice-President and Project Director of the McGill University Health Centre, Glen site.
Before joining the company, Ms. Sorel held numerous management positions, most notably in the areas of project management, strategy, business development and operations management. She has led engineering and construction projects in various sectors (buildings, mining and metallurgy, industrial, railroads and power transmission), and has significant international experience, having traveled extensively for projects and business purposes across the world.
Ms. Sorel sits on the Boards of the Institut pour le partenariat public-privé, the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships, the Canada-United Arab Emirates Business Council and Falco Resources, a public company.
