Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games - "Together to support our Quebec athletes" - Philippe Couillard
MONTREAL, Feb. 6, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - A few hours away from the opening ceremony that will officially mark the start of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, the leader of the Official Opposition, Philippe Couillard, Official Opposition critic for sports and recreation, Jean Rousselle, and Official Opposition critic for youth, Alexandre Iracà, wish good luck to all the Quebec and Canadian athletes.
"Participation in the Olympic Games starts with a dream. A dream that is often nurtured from a young age. During their journey, athletes are fortunate to count on the unwavering support of their family, friends and coaches. In a few hours, our Quebec athletes will take part in the biggest celebration of sport in the world. These athletes are true examples of perseverance, sacrifice and courage for all young Quebecers. For athletes, the Olympic Games are the culmination of many years of preparation and relentless work. More than forty Quebec athletes have earned their place among the largest delegation of Canadian athletes in the history of the Olympic Winter Games, numbering 221 in total. Our athletes, their coaches and their support staff will be the ambassadors of our sports traditions and culture. On behalf of myself and my colleagues in the Quebec Liberal Party, I hope they will live this experience to the fullest and enjoy these unforgettable moments that will forever mark their lives," concluded Mr. Couillard.
