Socionext America Names Takuji Nukiwa as New President

Brings Three Decades of Experience in Design, Sales, and Strategic Business Development to Emerging Industry Leader

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 1, 2016 /CNW/ -- Socionext Inc., an emerging leader in the development of advanced technology for imaging, video and networking SoCs, has named Takuji Nukiwa as president effective April 1. Mr. Nukiwa will also assume the role of Acting President for Bayside Design, Inc., a Socionext subsidiary.

Mr. Nukiwa replaces Satoru "Ethan" Yamaguchi, who will move to Seoul to establish Socionext's new business efforts in South Korea.

Mr. Nukiwa brings three decades of industry experience to SNA. He started his career at Fujitsu in 1986, and was employed in the Sales & Marketing division of the Semiconductor Group for almost 20 years, working closely with large accounts. He organized numerous business opportunities and design wins, such as mixed signal system LSI projects as sales and marketing director and manager. From 2005 and for the following 10 years, Mr. Nukiwa was engaged as the General Manager of Fujitsu Semiconductor Corporate Planning Office and Director of Investor Relations of Fujitsu Limited. He organized strategic initiatives for the Fujitsu LSI division, such as the establishment of Socionext, formed from the merger of Fujitsu and Panasonic System IC division, and was instrumental in the development of the new company's corporate structure. In 2015 until recently. Mr. Nukiwa served in the role of Corporate Planning General Manager of Socionext Inc. He worked closely with the senior executives of Socionext to establish new management functions and activities.

SNA also announced that Mr. Toshiya Suzuki will become Vice President of SNA's High Performance SoC Business Unit. He assumes the new role from his current position as Assistant Vice President, Business Project Management, High Performance SoC Business Unit.
