Sodexo Canada establishes baseline inventory for Better Tomorrow Plan
BURLINGTON, ON, Dec. 7 /CNW/ - Sodexo Canada continues to make strides in the realm of sustainability and corporate citizenship and today announces that it has established a baseline inventory for the Better Tomorrow Plan, Sodexo's formal roadmap to sustainability. The new baseline data will serve as a benchmark to track measurable impact and progress toward sustainability objectives outlined in the Better Tomorrow Plan over the next 10 years. The recently appointed Director of Corporate Citizenship, Chris Roberts, is charged with guiding and reporting on progress, best practices and stakeholder engagement for Sodexo Canada.
"This is one milestone among many as we embark on this journey, but it is a significant one," said Roberts. "The Better Tomorrow Plan is unique among sustainability plans in that it is comprised of detailed key performance indicators and milestones that lead to specific objectives. That could not be possible without this first milestone, an established baseline inventory."
At the core of The Better Tomorrow Plan are 14 commitments that will be implemented across the company with clear metrics to track the progress of Sodexo's work to:
- Protect and restore the environment
- Support local community development
- Promote health and wellness
Sodexo touches the lives of more than 50 million people daily. This enormous reach comes with a significant responsibility to ensure that our actions help improve the quality of daily life and guarantee a more sustainable future for the planet.
