BURLINGTON, ON, April 20, 2012 /CNW/ - Sodexo Canada continues to lead the industry in sustainability and corporate citizenship and will celebrate Earth Day with the announcement that it has been recognized as one of Canada's Greenest Employers for the second consecutive year. Companies were assessed on their success in fostering a culture of environmental awareness. The recognition from Mediacorp Canada is based on Sodexo's Better Tomorrow Plan, the company's formal roadmap to sustainability, which guides the company toward integrating sustainable business practices into day-to-day operations. The plan includes company-wide commitments to reducing the company's carbon footprint, water consumption, waste diversion and composting, and engaging its customers and suppliers to do the same.
"We see our Corporate Citizenship goals as intrinsic to our strategy and business plans, and the ambitious commitments we have made as part of our Better Tomorrow Plan guide the actions of all our employees," explained Dean Johnson, President of Sodexo Canada. "This recognition is one that we're extremely proud of and shows that we are truly committed to the advancement of sustainability initiatives in Canada and that these values are a key part of our corporate culture."
