Sofame Signs LOI for $250k Equipment Order in Europe
MONTREAL, June 3 /CNW Telbec/ - Sofame Technologies Inc. (TSX-V: SDW), a leading manufacturer of environmentally efficient industrial hot water systems and cost efficient heat recovery equipment, has received a commitment from a European customer valued at $250,000. The Letter of Intent, from a landfill gas to energy plant currently in operation, is expected to result in a purchase order within 60 days. The order is the first received by Sofame's subsidiary in France, Sofame Europe SAS, which re-launched its operations 2008.
Fahim Samaha, a member of Sofame's Board of Directors and Chairman of Soffimat SA, Sofame's joint venture partner in Paris stated, "It took two years to close the first European sale. Others are in the works."
Several Sofame systems are already operating in France. They were sold about a decade ago in partnership with French natural gas utilities. Sofame's largest Percotherm(R) heat recovery system recovers 60 MW of heat from a GE turbine exhaust at an LNG Terminal in Montoir-de-Bretagne. The recovered energy is used to vaporize liquefied natural gas by heating 9,000 gallons per minute of water to 104 degrees F. That Percotherm(R) was designed to eliminate up to 40,000 tons of CO2 annually.
