Sofame Technologies Inc. Welcomes New Directors to its Board
MONTREAL, June 16 /CNW Telbec/ - Sofame Technologies Inc. (TSX-V: SDW), a leading manufacturer of environmentally efficient industrial hot water systems and cost efficient heat recovery equipment, is pleased to welcome three new members to its Board of Directors. Josh Costell, Pierre Grand'Maison and Aurelio Useche joined the Board at Sofame's Annual Meeting held in Montreal last Friday. Robert Presser continues as Chairman, and Fahim Samaha, Sofame's partner in Europe, also remains on the Board. Kebir Ratnani, a long-standing Sofame Board member, and Luc Mandeville, Sofame's founder, both resigned from the Board to create opportunities for new members. Ratnani and Mandeville remain important shareholders, and Mandeville continues as Sofame's Chief Technology Officer and a key engineering resource for major customer accounts.
Robert Presser, Sofame's Board Chairman stated, "Each new Director brings world class experience in technical sales, HVAC equipment manufacturing and corporate finance to Sofame. This Board is excited about leveraging Sofame's strengths to seize a variety of opportunities across North American and European markets."
Mr. Aurelio Useche has held senior management positions the HVAC sector and is currently leading several entrepreneurial ventures. Mr. Useche is a Board member and CFO of Colt Resources, and has served as CEO, General Manager and VP Operations in both private and public corporations. Mr. Useche holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Concordia University, an MBA from Queens School of Business and the CMA designation.
Mr. Pierre Grand'Maison was President from 1992 to 2006 of Thermoplast Inc., and was instrumental in leading Thermoplast's growth to sales of $62 million and 270 employees. He has served on the Board Council of the University of Montréal from 1991 to 1999 and as a Director of Hydro-Québec from 2000 to 2003. He is presently Chairman of Allianz Madvac (street sweepers), Chairman of Aciflex Group (baths and showers), and Chairman of Bois Nobles Ka'N'enda (saw mill). He is co-chairman of the Meloche Group of Valleyfield (aeronautic supplier) and a Director of Thermetco (Metal heat treatment). Mr. Grand'Maison is a graduate of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors (2005), and is a professor of "Governance adapted for the Small and Medium Enterprises" for the Institut sur la Gouvernance des Organizations Privées et Publiques (IGOPP) in Montréal. Mr. Grand'Maison graduated in Engineering from École Polytechnique of the University de Montréal as well as in Management from McGill University.
Mr. Josh Costell is General Manager of Tozour Trane's Energy Services Division (ESD) which develops and implements and also finances turn-key energy reduction projects as well as Master Energy, Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Pay for Performance Plans in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Mr. Costell has over 30 years of senior management experience in the HVAC industry with York, Johnson Controls, Honeywell and Dome-Tech Group. He is a member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and the National Association of Energy Services Companies (NAESCO). The American Management Association and Prentice Hall published his book "The Science of Sales Success" and he is a regular guest on the Small Business Advocate, a national radio program in the United States.
