South West Local Health Integration Network Board Chair Resigns

Norm Gamble, Board Chair, today submitted his resignation from the South West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) Board of Directors to the Honourable Deb Matthews , Minister of Health and Long-Term Care. Minister Matthews has accepted Norm's resignation effective today, Friday October 9, 2009 .

Norm has clearly articulated that his resignation is for personal reasons and he looks forward to seeing new board leadership in place to continue the important mission of the South West LHIN.

As the first and only Board Chair of the South West LHIN, Norm will be missed. He personified the values of the South West LHIN, showing compassion, courage, integrity, trust and respect.

Norm has logged thousands of miles and spent countless hours every year to ensure that he can meet directly with our health service providers, communities, other LHINs and provincial colleagues, and he has never shied away from contentious or difficult issues that require the attention of the LHIN.

The Board will be working closely with Minister Matthews in the coming days to put a succession plan in place.
