KITCHENER, ON, Oct. 1, 2013 /CNW/ - Today, development organization World Vision launches its Just One Child sponsorship campaign throughout Southwestern Ontario. From October 1 to November 30, Southwestern Ontario residents are encouraged to come together to help at least 1,000 children in need from countries around the world.
Southwestern Ontario residents have already proved how big their hearts are by collectively sponsoring more than 40,000 children through World Vision.
A sponsorship of just $39 a month helps parents and communities provide children with access to essentials like education, clean drinking water and health care.
Quotes:
"Over the last 33 years we have sponsored three beautiful children with World Vision, each one from a different country and religion," says Kitchener resident Christine Bartley. "It has been rewarding to see the entire communities become self-sufficient, thanks to their own determination and the work of World Vision."
"Through sponsorship, you are creating an opportunity for a child and family many miles away to experience hope that leads to a better future," says World Vision's Cheryl Hotchkiss of Waterloo. "For parents living in poverty, hope for the future of their children is all they often have to offer. But when you sponsor a child, your financial contribution strengthens that hope and connects children and families with resources like clean water, health care, education and nutritious food that make the hope of better future for children a reality."
