S&P Dow Jones Indices Announces Changes to the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

A Relative Weight Change for Canadian Pacific Railway Limited (TSX:CP)

TORONTO, Aug. 10, 2016 /CNW/ - S&P Dow Jones Canadian Index Services will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices:

Canadian Pacific Railway Limited (TSX:CP) has announced that Pershing Square Capital Management L.P. has sold its entire 9.8 million shares in the company. To reflect the increase in float shares of Canadian Pacific as a result of this divestiture, the relative weight of Canadian Pacific will increase in the S&P/TSX Composite and Capped Composite, the S&P/TSX 60, 60 Capped and 60 ESG, the S&P/TSX 60 Carbon Efficient, the S&P/TSX Composite Dividend, the S&P/TSX 60 Fossil Fuel Free, the S&P/TSX 60 Fossil Fuel Free Carbon Efficient, the S&P/TSX Capped Industrials and the S&P/TSX Composite Buyback Indices. There will be no change to the relative weight for Canadian Pacific in the S&P/TSX Composite Equal Weight, the S&P/TSX Equal Weight Industrials or the S&P/TSX 60 Equal Weight Indices. These changes will be effective after the close of trading on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
