Space Partners with Syfy for Production of Upcoming Original Series KILLJOYS
- From producers of Space's hit original clone drama ORPHAN BLACK and the creator of LOST GIRL -

TORONTO, April 30, 2014 /CNW/ - Space announced today that it has teamed up with Syfy to produce the upcoming original adventure drama series KILLJOYS. As previously announced, hit-makers Temple Street Productions (ORPHAN BLACK) are tapped to produce the Space/Syfy co-venture. The brainchild of writer, creator, and showrunner Michelle Lovretta (LOST GIRL), Killjoys follows a trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multi-planetary class war. In development since 2012 as part of Bell Media's Writer Only Drama Development program, the project was ordered to series by Space in October, 2013. The 10-episode series will begin production this August in Toronto, and is set to premiere on Space in 2015.

KILLJOYS was created by Michelle Lovretta (Lost Girl, The Secret Circle) who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. Executive producers are David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg of Temple Street Productions. Universal Cable Productions distributes the series worldwide.
KILLJOYS is produced by Temple Street Productions in association with Bell Media and Syfy. Production Executives for Bell Media are Trish Williams and Rebecca DiPasquale. Corrie Coe is Senior Vice-President, Independent Production, Bell Media. Catherine MacLeod is Senior Vice-President, Specialty Channels and Bell Media Production.
