OTTAWA, March 16, 2017 /CNW/ - As we are approaching the end of the skating season, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will host a special public event on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 1:30 p.m., at Rideau Hall's historic skating rink, to announce that Canada 150 – Skating Day will take place later in the year.
The Governor General; Caitlyn Baikie and Johnny Issaluk, Canada 150 Ambassadors; Mr. Dale Hooper, Chief Brand Officer of Rogers Communications; and Ms. Deborah Armstrong, Chief Executive Officer of Skate Canada, will deliver remarks on this occasion.
The public is invited to take part in this special event by bringing their skates and enjoying the historic skating rink from noon until 5 p.m. on that day. Rideau Hall's skating season will end on March 26.

with the Rideau Hall Press Office in advance.
On the day of the event, media must arrive via Princess Gate.
The event will take place outside, near the historic skating rink and Winter Pavilion.
