MONTREAL, Nov. 12, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Jocelyn Deschênes, founding President and producer at Sphère Média Plus, is pleased to announce a major restructuring within the firm. To satisfy the growth requirements of Sphère Média Plus, and in accordance with a logical development perspective, VP positions have been created for Corporate Affairs, Finance and Human Resources, and at the Executive level. This decision has been taken with a view to consolidating the structure of the company and ensuring the success of various breakthroughs and new projects which are stimulating Sphère Média Plus in the English and French-language markets. This update in operations and in the attribution of responsibilities highlights the firm's continued effervescence.
New VP's
As of December 2nd, Stéphanie L'Écuyer, a new addition to the team, will occupy the position of VP Corporate Affairs. A senior advisor in legal matters and a lawyer by training, Stéphanie L'Écuyer has worked extensively in television production, notably at Cinégroupe, Galafim and, until just recently, at the National Film Board of Canada. She will supervise, among other things, relations and negotiations with various business partners.
Having been at Sphère for a short time, Renée Mouchawar is being promoted to VP Finance and Human Resources. Before joining the team, Renée Mouchawar made her mark as Director of Finance at Productions Point de mire and as comptroller at Galafilm.
A key collaborator at Sphère Média Plus since 2004 and a partner in the company, Sophie Pellerin becomes Executive VP, thus consolidating her influence on dramatic content and on the firm's operations. Having distinguished herself as a producer with her work on the hit shows Vice caché, Annie et ses hommes, Les hauts et les bas de Sophie Paquin, Toute la vérité and 19-2, Sophie Pellerin is now working on the first season of the series Nouvelle Adresse.
Also worth noting: Sylvie Gaudreault joined the team in May of 2011 as a producer after having spent a number of years occupying management positions at the TVA network. She is presently producing Mémoires vives and Toute la vérité, and she handles development on new dramatic series.
English-language Markets
In 2011, Sphère Média Plus recruited Toronto producer Carolyn Newman, thus confirming the company's aim of extending its activities to the entire North American market. She holds the title of VP Development, English-language Markets, North America. As announced in September, the first season of the English version of 19-2 is now shooting in Montreal. It is scheduled to air in the winter of 2014 on Bravo. Other projects in collaboration with the United States and English Canada are also in development and will be announced soon.
