Program features zany, loveable characters and creatures voiced by Canadian talent
TORONTO, Jan 2, 2019 /CNW/ - Spin Master Ltd. (TSX:TOY; www.spinmaster.com), a leading global children's entertainment company, premiered its new original animated preschool series, Abby Hatcher, on January 1st, 2019 on Nickelodeon. Following the U.S. premiere, Abby Hatcher will roll out on Nickelodeon's international channels in 2019 and will also launch on TVO in Canada on February 11th, 2019.
The show features Abby Hatcher, an adventurous seven-year-old with a giant heart and endless love for her favorite creatures, the Fuzzlies. These furry, zany creatures come in all shapes and sizes, each with their own uniquely special abilities, and Abby adores them all. In the Hatcher Palace Hotel, where Abby lives with her parents, there's lots for the Fuzzlies to discover as they become part of her expanding family, but that can also mean often getting into Fuzzly Trouble! Each episode follows Abby as she goes on incredible adventures with her best Fuzzly-friend Bozzly to fix mishaps that land the Fuzzlies in trouble, and ultimately save the day!
"Abby Hatcher embodies remarkable storytelling combined with an emotional and social curriculum to entertain and delight preschoolers," said Ronnen Harary, Spin Master's Co-Founder, Chairman and Co-CEO. "It was a magical experience to watch the characters we created come to life with powerful performances by Canadian children. Now, with the premiere of Abby Hatcher, we can share these enchanting and heartfelt stories with kids all over the world."
The series features an all-Canadian cast including Macy Drouin, who stars as Abby, while Wyatt White portrays Bozzly, Abby's Fuzzly best friend and partner. Continuing the talented Canadian line-up is Kim's Convenience's Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Hatcher Palace Hotel Chef Jeff.
"Together with Spin Master's highly successful PAW Patrol, Abby Hatcher expands preschoolers' imaginations through fun story lines and endearing characters, while also fostering empathy, compassion and acceptance," said Jennifer Dodge, Spin Master Entertainment's Executive Vice President. "The series also encourages kids to develop their problem-solving skills and join in saving the day."
At its core, Abby Hatcher models the power of one little girl to bring together a whole community with her nurturing heart, eternal optimism, and her love and acceptance of everyone, no matter how different they are. Abby Hatcher is the eighth series from Spin Master Entertainment and comes from the same talented team of producers and directors that made PAW Patrol, the amazingly creative series and global phenomenon. Like PAW Patrol, Abby Hatcher is animated at Toronto's Guru Studio. The series is overseen by executive producers Ronnen Harary and Jennifer Dodge as well as executive producer Jamie Whitney, who acts as showrunner.
