TORONTO, March 16, 2015 /CNW/ - Corus Entertainment's CMT (Canada) delivers two original reality series this April. Meet the men of Grabuone Outfitters as they take willing thrill-seekers out for adrenaline-induced snake grabbing expeditions on Mississippi Snake Grabbers premiering Thursday, April 9 at 10 p.m. ET. Canada's psychic medium, Carmel Baird, returns for the second season of Mom's a Medium, premiering Saturday, April 4 at 9 p.m. ET. Continuing to give viewers a window into the afterlife, this season unveils more striking revelations. Celebrity guests readings include Stanley Cup winner Theo Fleury and award-winning country artist Brett Kissel.
"CMT embraces comedy, suspense and awe-inspiring stories this April," said John MacDonald, Vice President of Television, Head of Corus Women and Family. "Both series bring a refreshing reality charm to the screen, inviting viewers to experience life's extraordinary and most exhilarating moments."
Owned and produced by Corus Entertainment, Mississippi Snake Grabbers (12 x 30 minutes) follows the men of Grabuone Outfitters as they launch their new snake grabbing business. What started out as a hobby among friends, has now caught the attention of thrill-seekers from all over. Viewers are pulled into the world of the Grabuones as they balance their new venture with their busy family lives and professional careers in law enforcement. Each episode showcases a thrilling adrenaline-rush as their clients catch snakes for the first time with their bare hands. Along the way, audiences will explore the great characters of Grabuone Outfitters, their distinct Southern customs and daily adventures in the amazing state of Mississippi.
The heart-stopping moments continue on the second season of Mom's a Medium (10 x 30 minutes) as psychic medium Carmel Baird manages her chaotic life filled with six kids, three grandkids, her husband, a farm full of animal and a whole lot of dead people. This season, Carmel's inspiring abilities are evident as she engages her ever-expanding clientele from intimate private sessions, to small group readings for grieving mothers, to much larger open mediumships where Carmel delivers her messages to hundreds of clients in need of healing. Carmel's unique connection to the spirit world also allows her to put to rest her clients negative fears and thoughts surrounding what they perceive as hauntings. Since life is nothing without a little chaos, Carmel is also the matriarch of an ever-growing, unruly family and extremely busy farm. Carmel's unique gift for helping her clients find peace and closure is the calm in the centre of a loving family storm. Mom's a Medium is produced by Lark Productions in association with CMT.
