Sportsnet and TVA Sport to Air Highlights of the 2013 IPC Swimming World Championships in Montreal Français
MONTREAL, Aug. 12, 2013 /CNW/ - Canada's top sports broadcasters, Sportsnet and TVA sport, will be airing daily highlight shows of 2013 IPC Swimming World Championships taking place in Montreal from Monday, August 12th to Sunday August 18th.
Sportsnet One will be airing a 30-minute highlights package featuring Canada's top performances in the pool. The shows will air at 11:00PM EST starting Tuesday, August 13th to Monday, August 19th, with the exception of Saturday (11:30pm EST). Former Paralympic swimming champion, Stephanie Dixon will bring insights to the performances as well as post race interviews with key athletes.
TVA Sport will be presenting a daily show in French on its airways twice daily, 10am with an encore presentation at 2h30pm, starting Tuesday, August 13th to Monday, August 19th.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Sportsnet and TVA sport for domestic broadcast of the IPC Swimming World Championships," said Martin Richard, Executive Director, Communications and Marketing for the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC).
"Canada has a proud tradition in the pool and this will be the first time that these championships are presented in North-America, and through a domestic broadcaster. Showcasing our Canadian para-athletes competing at world-class events to Canadians on various media platforms is part of CPC's strategy to increase ongoing awareness of the Paralympic Brand."
In addition to the television broadcast, a digital live stream of all finals sessions will be made available via www.paralympicsport.tv.
News Broadcast Media Access
To complement the daily highlight shows, 3-minute News access highlights clips and flash interviews will be made available free of rights to all news broadcast and digital media courtesy of the Canadian Paralympic Committee via www.sendtonews.com. Clips will be made available daily, shortly after each final session ending at approximately 9PM EST.
