Spreading Happiness in Winnipeg One Lunch at a Time
Coca-Cola Canada proud to support the great work of Lunches With Love
WINNIPEG, June 19, 2014 /CNW/ - Coca-Cola Canada is proud to support the ongoing efforts of Lunches With Love to make a difference in the Winnipeg community through a donation of $2,000. This donation will help to provide over 1,500 paper bag lunches to those less fortunate.
Winnipeg teen Nathan Unrau founded Lunches With Love in 2012 to provide bagged lunches to Winnipeg's homeless. Coca-Cola Canada learned about his inspiring work, and chose Nathan Unrau as an Open Happiness Leader in 2013. Last summer, we helped Nathan get the word out about his work, and with a large team of volunteers, and help him take Lunches With Love to the next level. Together we helped Nathan pack 2,000 lunches, and delivered them with him to shelters across Winnipeg. Since then, Lunches With Love continues to thrive and grow, inspiring more people to come together for their community.
"Coca-Cola Canada has been a part of the Winnipeg community since 1915," said John Guarino, President of Coca-Cola Refreshments Canada. "Lunches With Love and Nathan Unrau are great examples of why Winnipeg is a special place. We're pleased to continue to support their important work building a stronger Winnipeg community."
"Coca-Cola Canada has been a big supporter of ours over the past year, breathing life into our charity and helping us grow," said Nathan Unrau, Founder and CEO of Lunches With Love. "I'm grateful for their ongoing support, and know this donation is going to do a lot of good in Winnipeg."

About Lunches With Love:
Lunches With Love is a non-profit organization started by (then) 12-year old Nathan. His first donation of 42 paper bag lunches were donated on October 27th, 2012 as a way to earn his way to We Day with community service. After seeing the conditions under which the homeless in their city were living, Nathan and his family decided they needed to continue their support and invite others to help do much more. Nathan decided he wanted to continue bringing as many lunches as he could to homeless shelters in Winnipeg. Since that day in October, Lunches With Love has prepared and donated over 16,000 lunches.
