TORONTO, April 30, 2014 /CNW/ - Sprott Asset Management LP ("Sprott" or "the Company") today announced that Eric Nuttall has been named Lead Portfolio Manager of the Company's small cap funds. Mr. Nuttall replaces Allan Jacobs who is leaving Sprott following a long and successful career as a portfolio manager to spend more time with his family and on his personal interests.

Mr. Nuttall will assume responsibility for managing the Sprott Small Cap Equity Fund and the Sprott Small Cap Hedge Fund (the "Funds"). Mr. Jacobs has worked closely with Mr. Nuttall to facilitate the transfer of the portfolio management responsibilities for the Funds. The objectives and strategies of the Funds will remain the same.
Mr. Nuttall joined Sprott in 2003 as a research associate and was subsequently promoted to the position of research analyst in 2005, associate portfolio manager in 2008 and then to portfolio manager in January 2010. In November of 2010, he was made lead manager of Sprott Energy Fund. Mr. Nuttall graduated with high honours from Carleton University with an Honours Bachelor of International Business.
