SSQ continues expansion with construction of a complex at Place Charles-LeMoyne in Longueuil

QUEBEC CITY, Dec. 13, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - SSQ, Life Insurance Company Inc. has made an offer to purchase a 4,000 m² property at Place Charles-LeMoyne in Longueuil in order to build Tour SSQ, a real estate project worth over $55 million. SSQ Financial Group has until March 2013 to carry out the various analyses and studies needed to confirm its offer.

The construction of this 12- to 14-story tower, totalling 240,000 sq. ft., is in keeping with the City of Longueuil's revitalization effort in this high-potential sector as well as the sustainable development vision it wishes to implement. Extremely mindful of the environmental impacts of its real estate projects, SSQ stands out in the green building sector and is aiming to obtain a Gold LEED Certification for Tour SSQ.

With this new project, SSQ intends to promote synergies and maximize efficiency by bringing together all its employees currently located in the Greater Montreal area. The new building will also provide commercial space on the ground floor as well as office space above.
