SSQ Financial Group continues its expansion with a new acquisition on Laurier Blvd in Quebec City

QUEBEC CITY, Sept. 8, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - SSQ Financial Group purchased an office building this week located at 2475 Laurier Blvd in Quebec City, adjacent to the company's head office, in a bid to primarily meet the company's growing office space needs.

Built in 1961, the 3-storey building has 62,000 ft² in office space. The recent acquisition is located nearby SSQ's head office at 2525 Laurier Blvd, which includes two towers: the St. Lawrence tower, built in 1968 and the Laurentian tower, built in 1989, and the Roland-Giroux building located at 2505/2515 Laurier Blvd and built in 2005. With this new acquisition, the SSQ Financial Group buildings in this sector of Laurier Blvd will total some 600,000 ft² in office space.

As for employees in the greater Montreal area, they will be all brought together in 2016, in the new SSQ Tower in Longueuil, Place Charles-Le Moyne, a few minutes from the Jacques-Cartier Bridge and the Longueuil Metro station. Construction of the distinctive, contemporary 12-storey tower began last March. The building will be aiming for LEED certification and will also offer office space. In addition, SSQ Financial Group owns the SSQ Place building in the northern suburbs of the City of Toronto.
