SSR Mining Announces Temporary Suspension of Puna Operations
VANCOUVER, March 20, 2020 /CNW/ - SSR Mining Inc. (NASDAQ: SSRM) (TSX: SSRM) ("SSR Mining") announces that Puna Operations ("Puna") is temporarily suspending operations in accordance with government-mandated restrictions due to the COVID-19 virus. On March 19, 2020, the government of Argentina enacted Urgency Decree #297/20, ordering a national mandatory quarantine effective from March 20, 2020 until March 31, 2020. We will continue managing required activities to ensure the safety of our employees and operational readiness for when the suspension is lifted.
Our company-wide response to the COVID-19 virus is being managed within the framework of preparedness protocols and contingency plans developed by SSR Mining's Crisis Management Team. These plans include individual site management controls, emergency medical preparedness, and working with health authorities to closely monitor local developments.
