St. Joseph's healthcare professionals in Hamilton to receive TD Grants in
Medical Excellence
HAMILTON, ON, Sept. 29 /CNW/ - During a noon ceremony today at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, TD Bank Financial Group and St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation awarded 14 TD Grants in Medical Excellence, as well as a TD Post-Doctoral Fellowship.
The TD Grants in Medical Excellence program, established in 2000, encourages the hospital's nurses and allied health professionals to enhance their skills to ensure top-quality patient care while at the same time alleviate some of the financial burden that often accompanies the pursuit of continuing education.
Since 2001, TD Bank Financial Group has provided $625,000 in grants for the further education of St. Joseph's employees.
"TD Bank Financial Group is committed to investing in the future by helping to ensure that nurses and other practicing caregivers have access to funds to upgrade their skills or further their education. As a result, TD established the TD Grants in Medical Excellence, which will provide funding for educational courses that contribute to their professional development," says David Kissick, district vice-president, TD Commercial Banking.
St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation President Sera Filice-Armenio says the TD Grants in Medical Excellence program is a demonstration of TD Financial Group's remarkable support of the staff at St. Joseph's. "These grants provide the hospital's nurses and allied health professionals an opportunity to enhance their skills to ensure top-quality patient care while at the same time alleviate some of the financial burden that often accompanies the pursuit of continuing education."
